The value of team connection

How do you build team connection when everyone on the teams come from different places, roles, and priorities across your 800-member department?

That was my challenge (and opportunity) when asked to kick off three sessions with newly formed Strategic Initiative Groups.

These new teams will be working together for the next 6 months on high-impact projects. My goal was to help them start strong by building a sense of cohesiveness from the very beginning.

At the end of the final session, I asked each person for one word to describe how they were feeling. I heard:

Excited. Motivated. Positive. Hopeful. Energized. Confident.

I couldn't ask for better results!

Here’s to strong starts, real connection, and the power of a shared sense of purpose. I'm so excited for the work that these teams will do.

(And yes... I’m a hand talker. And I make funny faces. The photos prove it!)
